We set out to raise $10,000 and thanks to you we did it way ahead of time. We still have two weeks left so we’re raising our sights. Our New stretch goal: $15,000 by August 7.
A group of incarcerated women at the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) asked for a program we’ve never done at this scale. For three months, twice a week, our Education and Project Coordinator, Rhonda Leland, will teach the core Freedom to Choose skills in two languages to 75 incarcerated women, 25 of whom speak only Spanish.
By Fall, they’ll be leading Freedom to Choose groups themselves.
The grants that covered 65% of our operations were not renewed last year. We need your help to raise $10,000 to fund the expansion and growth of this program at CCWF.
Since the pandemic, the programs that supported the women at this facility have largely disappeared. And the ones still around don’t have much outside support.
We are determined to change that reality.
Watch this inspirational video and learn about the impact we’re already making.

“The most groundbreaking part isn’t that we’re teaching [this program] — it’s that by Fall, they’ll be teaching it themselves.”
—Rhonda Leland, FTC Education & Project Coordinator
Getting back into CCWF took persistence, trust, and a facility willing to say yes.
What happens next depends on our collective support. With more funds, the program runs longer, reaches more women, and trains more facilitators who can lead classes on their own. These first three months are just a start. Your gift determines how far we can go.
