Participants consistently report increased empathy towards others and positive self-regulation outcomes, including improved management of fight/flight/freeze reactions in triggering situations.
This is our signature workshop, where about 100+ volunteers spend the weekend working alongside 200+ incarcerated participants in person at the prison.
The workshop is offered in English with simultaneous Spanish translation.
These classes are led by incarcerated individuals experienced in the FTC curriculum and supported by FTC volunteers.

This pioneering Program allows incarcerated participants to complete Growthwork (what we call homework) modules, which are mailed to our headquarters. Trained volunteers then read and respond empathetically and positively to their work.
This level of individualized feedback is the first of its kind among incarcerated educational projects.
