Volunteer Reading Opportunity

Join us and become part of our Reader Team!

In a time when in-person programming is not available, we have been working on an amazing way to continue to reach our brothers and sisters in blue with new curriculum that introduces some of the foundational skills of The Freedom to Choose Project (FTC). While human interaction in prison is very limited due to health precautions, we are offering a unique opportunity for the community to come together and provide direct feedback to our participants’ homework (which we refer to as Growthwork), with all the love and compassion that we’d bring in person.

We are looking forward to expanding our team, and would like to invite you to apply for the opportunity to become a Reader. All reading is done online. The Readers meet via Zoom monthly on a Saturday from 9:30am-3:30pm (for reading dates, please visit our Upcoming Events page), and/or on their own time. We utilize this time to come together and provide meaningful and heartfelt feedback on assignments.

If you are interested in this opportunity to become a pivotal part of our participants’ journeys, we ask that you fill out the application brl. No experience needed – we extend this invitation to our entire community. If you know somebody who would make a great Reader, please feel free to refer them to the application below. We hope to hear from you!

WHAT DOES BEING A READER INVOLVE?

If becoming a Reader is something you are interested in, we ask that you fill out the application below. We are reaching out to our entire community in an effort to build our team as we expand. If you know somebody who would make a great Reader, please refer them to this application.
