We are thrilled to announce that Kim Culmone has joined The Freedom to Choose Project’s (FTC) Board of Directors. With over 20 years of experience in brand building, design, fashion, and licensing, Kim’s expertise aligns perfectly with our organization’s values and mission. As the SVP and Head of Doll Design at Mattel, she champions diversity and inclusivity, using her purpose-driven and human-centric design approach to elevate brands such as Barbie and Monster High.

Kim’s dedication to inclusivity is reflected in all aspects of her work. Notably, she spearheaded the development of the most diverse Barbie doll line in the brand’s history, featuring an unprecedented variety of skin tones and hair textures, as well as three new body types: curvy, tall, and petite. Her efforts were recognized on TIME magazine’s cover and earned a spot on the magazine’s “Top 25 Inventions of 2016” list. Kim’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity is a testament to her passion for creating positive change and making a difference in the world.
