FTC 33-Day Challenge FAQs

FTC 33-Day Challenge FAQs

How does the 33-Day Challenge work?

The FTC 33-Day Challenge is our invitation to come together and challenge ourselves to lift above the current situation and practice the skills we know and love so we can demonstrate greater flexibility, loving and compassion in our day to day life.

FTC will share a daily challenge – a simple activity every day for 33 days. If you have notifications turned on, you will receive an email alert, otherwise, please visit the challenge page each day to get the latest activity.

Why 33 days?

Research has shown it takes a minimum of 33 consecutive days to create a new habit.

We are hoping to remind all of us that when a challenge presents itself in life we can reach into our inner toolbox to exercise our freedom to choose moment so that we can respond to the challenges we face rather than react.

How this all started

We started this challenge as a way to support the incarcerated participants in our Prison Programs. In order to protect the health of the men and women in the prisons, the California Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (CDCR) have stopped all prison programs until further notice.

As you can imagine, without the support of workshops and weekly groups, as well as the heightened isolation, this has been very challenging for the men and women inside. To support them, we decided to create a 33-Day Challenge to guide them in practicing the tools they already have.

As we were preparing the materials, it became clear that many of us could use extra support as well, so we thought, why not do the FTC 33-Day Challenge for our free world community too!

As the participants of our weekly prison programs do their FTC 33-Day Challenge and we do ours, we are creating a circle of connection that bridges our external separation.

We hope to share (anonymously) messages of expansion and encouragement with our participants in prison so they know we are all in this together and feel the connection beyond our physical separation.

How much does the challenge cost?

We are requesting a donation of $99.00 ($3/day), however, give what you can. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. The invitation to participate is open, so invite your friends and family, and any one else who would like to develop more connection, loving, and peace.

What is the commitment?

The level of commitment to the FTC 33-Day Challenge is up to you. If you miss one day it’s ok and people can join in anytime throughout the 33 days.

As with most things, the more energy and care you give, the more you’ll get out of it so we highly encourage full participation (and you are free to choose).

What do I do now?

Make sure you are registered in the FTC 33-Day Challenge group. That’s it.

If you have notifications turned on, you will receive an email alert, otherwise, please visit the challenge page each day to get the latest activity.
