Celebrate our 15-Year Anniversary with us! Donate to our 2019 year-end campaign today.

We’ve been talking about… and you’ve been asking about this… for the past several months.

We’re now enrolling volunteers for 3 new prison projects in 2 new prisons!

As the recipient of two Round 5 Innovative Grants with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) this past spring, we have the funds to bring our programs into two new prisons.

Over the past several months, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get to the point when we can now invite you to volunteer at them!

The photo is of a small volunteer team we took to one of these new prisons (SATF) in July, where we led a 1-day kick-off workshop for the Youthful Offender Program (YOP). You can see how heart-expanding it was for us all by the smiles on our faces!

If you’d like to volunteer at one of the 3 upcoming new prison projects*, please “submit your intention” (links are below) between now and next Sunday, September 22.

*We can only bring 12 volunteers to 2 out of these 3 prison projects, so space is limited! We’ll select volunteers on a “lottery” basis.

These 3 new, prison projects include:

  • A Youthful Offender Program (YOP) 2-day workshop for men between the ages of 18-22 at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF), a men’s prison, in Corcoran, CA: October 12-13, 2019 (We can only have 12 volunteers for this workshop)
  • A Pathways to Freedom (PTF) 2-day workshop at California Men’s Colony (CMC), a men’s prison in San Luis Obispo, CA: November 2-3, 2019 (We can only have 12 volunteers for this workshop)
  • A Pathways to Freedom (PTF) 2-day workshop at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF), a men’s prison in Corcoran, CA: November 9-10, 2019 (This is a large workshop and we can have around 60-70 volunteers)

General Schedule for the Weekends:

  • “One Accord” Gathering (in person, at the hotel): Friday night
  •  All-Day Workshops (in the prison): Saturday & Sunday

Volunteer Lottery Deadline: Sunday, September 22, 2019 (Because this is a lottery and we’re working under a deadline with the prisons, sorry, no late submissions will be accepted.)

This is an exciting opportunity to be on a pioneering volunteer team that transforms the culture– and lives–in these two prisons. In the process, you’ll also heal and uplift your own life. (It really doesn’t get much better than that, does it?!)

To enter the volunteer lottery please “submit your intention” for volunteering here now:

(You’re welcome to enter more than one lottery, but you likely will only be selected for one so we can give as many people as we can a chance to join us!)
